Approximately one year ago Cynthia, one of the SSF students, qualified to enter Nursing. Due to the donation of funds specifically for nurse training she started her course which at the time had to be online. However at the start of 2021 she was able to attend College and she recently started a placement where she works with a team actually administering the Covid vaccine.

Hello am Cynthia one of your students. Hope you are doing fine. Right now we are on our placement sites and all is well. Am in Nyamira county referral hospital and I'll take a duration of three month. Though it's too cold here but we have to bear with the situation 😊😊

When Cynthia heard that a typical Nov/Dec day in the UK could start at around freezing, she decided that she wasn't too cold afterall!

The unit aims to vaccinate around 200 people a day with numbers over 100 most days.

Cynthia has been with us for about 5 years and in fact worked as Tom's right hand helper for 9 months between getting her school KCSE results and starting her nursing course. In that time she took responsibility for a range of tasks from collecting school receipts, delivering food bags to the elderly and needy and to being the communication person who relayed photos and student information directly to SSF. Currently her younger sister, Millicent is doing her best to fill Cynthia's role. Because of her willingness to help, Cynthia was able to earn and part fund money required for her own course. Stay safe Cynthia.
